Tne Arizona Awesome! has always been known for their offense, regardless of who the team owner is. However, their offense here in S12 took a big hit.

Andruw Merrick is officially out for the season with an ACL tear in left knee. He suffered the injury in the top of the 4th inning of the 7/8/11 PM2 CYCLE game against the San Diego Padres. It was a pretty nasty looking injury on such a routine play, as he misplayed a flyball hit by Andruw Herndon. Merrick went on to make the catch, but the damage was done to the knee.

Merrick will be flying to Birmingham, Alabama early on Monday to have surgery on his knee, which will be performed by Dr. James Andrews at the Andrews Institute for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. There's no chance of Merrick's return this season, and the start of S13 is looking rather grim as well. Tentative date of return is the All-Star break of S13.
