We are two days into Free Agency, and there have been some interesting signings so far. Here's some of the notables:
The Richmond Barking Spiders improved their pitching staff by signing FA P's Nick Donovan and Hugh Dolan to multi-year contracts. Donovan will be an excellent option coming out of the bullpen, while Dolan will improve the rotation.
PRIEST
The Vancouver VooDoo once again signed a big time SP to their rotation. This season, they nabbed Hi Priest and signed him to a 5 yr deal. Priest is a former CY YOUNG winner who will contribute greatly to the VAN rotation. Just imagine, Priest and David Wang as your SP 1/2.. not bad at all.
TARRAGA
The Philadelphia Cheese Steak bolstered their lineup by inking Edgard Tarraga to a deal. Tarraga, despite being 35 years old and with diminishing skills, will still add power to that PHI lineup. He'll still play a full season, and he'll get you 30+ HR.
NEVIN
The Milwaukee Naturals got themselves a nice hitting infielder, agreeing to terms with 2B Gregg Nevin on a contract. Nevin was a dependable bat in the Memphis lineup, and once Free Agency hit, he didn't waste time in filing. He'll put up some nice stats in that MIL lineup.
OTHER NOTABLE SIGNINGS
- The Seattle Fish Mongers signed Sidney Snow to a 3 year deal worth $17.4M.
- The Pawtucket Fire Cats signed Hector Rodriguez to a 1 year deal worth $1.9M.
- The Syracuse Iriquois signed Hank Hall to a 3 year deal worth $21.6M.
