S9 TRADE ROUNDUP - PART ONE

Yes, there have been some blockbuster deals so far this season. However, it doesn't necessarily take a blockbuster deal to make a difference in one team's season. Here's a couple other deals that went down.

GERRY DIXON

The Los Angeles BLUE Bombers made a huge upgrade to their offense by obtaining all-star RF Gerry Dixon from the Vancouver VooDoo, in exchange for 1B Fausto Navarre and prospect LF Tony Hukata. Dixon has produced wherever he's landed, and he will provide a big boost to LA's offense.

BRANDON WALKER

To make up for the loss of Dixon, Vancouver went out and obtained 1B Brandon Walker from Little Rock, in exchange for CF Donaldo Martinez and veteran OF Omar Melian. Vancouver will need all the offense they can get in the AL West, and Walker is sure to help in that area.

LEON RAY

Boston made a huge offensive upgrade by obtaining 3B Leon Ray from the Pawtucket franchise, in exchange for 2B prospect Albert Griffith. Ray will provide good defense for Boston, and he excels against left-handed pitchers. He should excel in Boston's system.

HAL BYNUM

With the fact of losing SP David Wang to FA, Trenton had to make this move. Picking up Hal Bynum from San Diego in exchange for super RF prospect Rigo Flores and pitching prospect Vic Andino was a brilliant move for the Jokers. A playoff team last season, the Jokers hope to not skip a beat with the addition of Bynum.
