END OF AN ERA?

Shoeless Joe witnessed arguably its greatest star go down with what could possibly be a career-ending injury.

Nicholas Lanier suffered a nerve irritation in his forearm in the 3/8 AM CYCLE game against Helena. In the fourth inning, with Milt Kipling already on first base, Lanier hit a bloop single to right field. Shortly after, he was seen in obvious pain and the Arizona medical staff quickly tended to him. He was immediately removed from the game.

There's no word on the timetable of Lanier's return.

UPDATE: Lanier will return this season, possibly a return in the 4/22 series against the Chicago Rooftops.
