The Salem Lights have officially made it known that they plan to keep one of their most talented players in a Lights uniform for quite some time.
Santo Rijo, the Lights' 5 time all-star 2B, has agreed to a contract extension with his present club. The deal is believed to be a 5-year/$46.5M deal, a bargain considering what he's done so far in his career.
Rijo will be counted on even more this season, since Geronimo Elcano left the lights for greener (as in cash) pastures over in Oklahoma City.
