One thing Shoeless Joe is known for, is the amount of trades that occur before the season starts. Whether it's a small deal for bench players or a blockbuster mega trade, you'll be sure to find it. Here's a quick recap of some of the trades that have gone down so far here in S12.
Oklahoma City made major strides back in S11, and winning the AL West division was the icing on the cake. A major reason for that happening was the offensive production of Pedro Rodriguez. Now don't get me wrong.. James Galloway is going to end up being a really nice player for the RedHawks. Will he produce P-Rod type numbers? Highly doubtful.

It's quite obvious that the once-dominant Rochester squad is trying to get payroll down, and this move is a prime example. Arthur LeCroy is a solid closer, but apparently the 5M salary of his wasn't in ROC's plans. Getting a guy such as Anibal Guillon in return was key. Guillon is a potential 30/30 guy who could thrive in Rochester's lineup. St. Louis gets a solid closer.

Al Small is a dominant lefty who has an exceptional array of pitches to throw at a hitter. David Mendoza is a solid hitter with speed who could provide instant dividends for Rochester later on down the road. However, when you have the chance to pick up a player such as Milt Kipling, you make it happen. You offer up whoever needs to be offered up. Instant win.

See above. Jose Vazquez will end up being a real nice pitcher, all-star caliber. Gregg Nevin is a solid player who'll fit nicely in Salem. BUT! When you can add a Denny Gaston to your lineup.. holy smokes Milwaukee. You're creating a dynasty over there!
WINNER:
A nice pickup for OKC as they add Chick Lankford to their rotation. He was a highly coveted prospect for Monterrey, who never quite panned out the way they wished he had. OKC hopes he can get it together with a change of scenery. Monterrey continues to get younger with Davey Guillen, who's an everyday CF/2B with mega speed. He'll hit righties extremely well and he's a potential gold glove fielder. Nice pickup for both clubs.

Kansas City gets themselves a pretty good closer in Stan Fitzgerald, who's produced 36 and 38 saves in 2 separate seasons with the Blue Darters. The Pine Tar hopes he can continue that production. In return, Cincinnati gets a pretty good starter in Adrian Duran, who should be a solid member of the Blue Darter rotation for years to come. The slight edge to the team who saves money on the deal.
