INSTANT ANALYSIS - FA RECAP

..............................................................................................................................................................................

Just as much trading as we see here in Shoeless Joe, we also see an equal amount of Free Agent signing. From the last place basement dwellers to the first place mainstays, all teams search for that key acquisition to take their team over the top. There have been huge signings so far here in S12, here are a few of them.

ARIZONA'S FA SPENDING SPREE

Back in the early seasons of Braggin' Rights/Shoeless Joe, Arizona was one of the most powerful teams in the world. Once the team slowly started to get old (minus Lanier), the team slipped in the standings. We kept saying, "If Lanier had help, who knows how good this team could be...". Well, he officially got help. Moreso on the pitching end, where Bunny Howard, Jose Fernandez, and Ajax Hosmer were all signed to boost the pitching staff. Lanier himself got some help with the signing of Andruw Merrick. Improvements will be made in Arizona, folks. That's a guarantee.

LAMB TO CINCY

A signing that literally happened not too long ago, the Cincinnati Blue Darters got more offense to their lineup by adding Billy Lamb. For those of you not familiar with Lamb's talents.. trust me. He's the real deal. He literally dominated the NL for many seasons, going to the AS team 6 times and winning NL MVP once. With an already loaded lineup featuring the likes of Zack Hernandez and Ed Kennedy, they will have no problems scoring runs.

SULLIVAN AND YAMAGUCCI TO SF

Two guarantees in life: the sun will rise every morning, and San Francisco will be players in the Free Agency market. That came true once again this season, as the VooDoo came to terms with Charley Sullivan and William Yamaguchi. The VooDoo's power output has definitely improved, where Sullivan and Yamaguchi live on feasting off RHP. They'll need all the help they can get in the always-tough AL West.
