AUSTIN SIGNS IFA STEAL
It's not very often that a young catcher with a ton of potential enters the world. For the Austin Bats, one just happened to fall directly into their laps. The Bats came to terms with Eugenio Cortez on a minor league contract. Cortez has been called a poor man's Milt Kipling. Extreme power with the ability to hit for average, and excels against both lefties and righties. He has above average defense behind the plate as well. Pitch calling could improve, but Cortez enters Shoeless Joe as arguably the top catching prospect in the entire world. Yeah, he's that good folks.
