THE FIRST TEAM IS IN...

Pawtucket (RI)

The first team has punched their tickets into the S10 World Series. Once again, the Salem Lights will be representing the American League as they defeated the Pawtucket Fire Cats 6-5 in 10 innings to capture the pennant. It's always a close game when these two teams meet, and they disappoint in this series. With the win, Salem wins the series 4-2.

Dwight Johnson got the win for the Lights, who blew his third save of the postseason. Jeremy Slocumb got the loss for the Fire Cats. Game 6 was built up for a great pitching matchup, as the Lights' Freddie Foster and the Fire Cats' Al Lopez were set to battle. However, both pitchers didn't last 5 innings as each other's offense were able to knock the opposing starter out. Geronimo Elcano had another monster game, going 3-5 with his 6th HR of the postseason. Santo Rijo went 1 for 4 but knocked home his 6th postseason HR as well.

Salem now patiently waits for the winner of the NLCS, as the Boston Stricken Gods and the St. Louis Soul get set to battle in Game 7.
