Cincinnati, OH
The offseason officially kicked off this morning at 4:00AM EST, and it only took 10 hours before we saw our first blockbuster of the season. In a deal that was agreed upon literally minutes ago, Cincinnati has sent Heinie Roberts to the Vancouver VooDoo, in exchange for 3 players. Most notable in the deal going to Cincinnati are one-time All Star and Gold Glove LF Orber Aparicio.
ROBERTS: BRAND NEW VOODOO
Roberts is a major acquisition for the VooDoo, as they strive to keep up with the Salem Lights in the AL West. He's a legit hitter with speed, who will provide better-than-average defense for the VooDoo. He signed a major 5 yr/100M deal back in S5, however some have argued that he's failed to live up to that major contract. He enters S9 in the last year of the deal, and maybe a change of scenery could be exactly what Roberts needs.
Also going to CIN in the deal are closer Stan Fitzgerald and pitching prospect Sarma Wainhouse.
