PEDRO AVILA

The Chicago Rooftops made the first huge splash in the International Free Agent market here in S11 by agreeing with Pedro Avila on a contract. Avila and the Rooftops came to terms on a 3 year ML contract, 327K per season. Avila will also get a 18.1M bonus. There was an intense bidding war for Avila, as the Rooftops won over another unnamed team (sources say it was Las Vegas, but is not confirmed).

Avila is going to be a solid ML starter once he's ready. He's going to be a big-time innings eater with superb control and excellent velocity. His best pitches are a cut fastball and a 4-seam fastball which he'll use early and often. The Rooftops are putting together a deadly rotation for the future. Picture Avila with the likes of Harpo May (obtained from the Cincinnati Blue Darters), Ramiro Cubillan, and Kazuya Shigetoshi. The Rooftops are setting themselves up to compete for a WS title for many seasons to come.
