PLAYOFF HISTORY - NY v PAW

SEASON FIVE
AL PLAY-IN SERIES


The first meeting between these two talented squads was back in S5, where the AL East Champs and #3 seed New York Nippers took on their fellow AL East division mates Pawtucket Bombers, who took the #6 wild card seed. New York is led by austinfan1, while Pawtucket was led by hwaters397. Pawtucket was led by Hector Rodriguez, who had a .312 BA, 55 HR, and walked away with the AL MVP award that season. Pedro Rodriguez was coming into his own that year, just beginning to blossom into the star he is now. Hank Hall was the ace of the staff, going 20-9. New York was led by Jake Brantley, who slammed home 54 HR and 131 RBI. Victor Baez led the team the team in victories that season with 16.

SEASON SIX
AL DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES


Meeting #2 between the two clubs went a step further, as they both met in the DCS. New York flew through the season with an AL best 102 wins and the #1 seed. Offensively, the Jake Brantley/Valerio Owen show was on the main stage, and they feasted on opposing pitchers. Merv Hunter was the main acquisition for NY that season, and he led the team in wins (16) while sporting a 2.74 ERA. Pawtucket was the tough luck 99 win wild card that year, getting the #5 seed. They knocked out the AL North champs and #4 seed Minnesota Lakes (now Cincinnati). Pedro Rodriguez continues his climb up to superstar status with another outstanding season, and Hank Hall took the AL CY YOUNG award home with his 20-4, 2.99 ERA season.

SEASON SEVEN
AL DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES


Meeting #3 between the teams saw the roles reversed from the previous season. Here, Pawtucket was the team who came in with a league best 98 wins and the #1 seed. PAW was led by AL CY YOUNG award winner Rudy Dingman, who won 17 games with a miniscule 2.34 ERA. Pedro Rodriguez hit .338 with 47 HR, and took home the AL MVP award. New York entered the playoffs in S7 as the 95 win #5 wild card team. They moved onto the DCS round with a grueling 5 game series win over the AL North champs Syracuse Iriquois. The NY offense were led by Jimmie Moreno and Oscar Hutton, who both slammed home 40+ HR while hitting over .270 each.

SEASON EIGHT
AL DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES


Another season arrives, and once again these two powerhouse franchise meet in the playoffs. Once again, they flipflop their positions. New York gets the #1 seed back by winning 105 games in dominating style. Pawtucket won 97 games that season, and it was their turn to get the #5 wild card seed. PAW took out the AL South champs Monterrey that season in 4 games, which led them to yet another meeting with NY in the DCS.

SEASON NINE
AL DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES


NY has the #2 seed with 95 victories, and faces a Pawtucket squad with a new owner (tomhighway). PAW eliminated the AL North champs Milwaukee Naturals in 3 games. Pawtucket has won the last 3 series between the two. Will PAW continue their recent dominance, or will NY come ahead in S9? Just who will come out the winners in this series?
