9/8/10

OWEN

The Las Vegas Vegan Vampires signed FA 1B Guillermo Owen to a one year/$735K ML contract. Owen will take Kevin Chen's roster spot, who was placed on the 60-day DL with a ligament strain in his foot. Owen will provide a good power bat off the bench, and he excels against right handed pitching.

9/9/10

SILVA

The Richmond Barking Spiders claimed P Wesley Silva off waivers from the New York Nippers. Silva spent the last 5 seasons in AAA, compiling a 24-40 record in 64 total starts.

OWEN

The New York Nippers placed 3B Valerio Owen on the 15-day DL with a bulging disk in his neck. He suffered the injury in the 5th inning against the Memphis Rum Runners.

9/10/10

OSIK

The Little Rock Lightning placed RF Edwards Osik on the 15-day DL with a strained hamstring. Osik suffered the injury today against the Boston Stricken Gods in the 5th inning, and left the game immediately. Taking Osik's place on the roster is Oscar Jiang, who was recalled from AAA.

9/11/10

The future is definitely now for the Austin Bats, where they promoted prospects Enrique Quixote, Sean Thurston, Grady Diaz, Eric Wolf, and Justin Robinson to the ML squad.

Quixote is an excellent power hitting 3B who has future all-star potential. Thurston is a slick fielding 2B who can hit for average. Diaz will see work coming out of the bullpen as a setup man. Wolf is a speedster at SS who excels in the field. Robinson is a power bat the Austin lineup can use, either as a starter or off the bench.

9/12/10

A new era has begun for the Santa Cruz Sequoias, as greeny9 takes over as franchise owner. His work is definitely cut out for him, as he inherits a team with a 3-25 record and an exhausted pitching staff. It's going to take some time and effort, but we have all the faith in the world in greeny9 to turn this team around.

9/13/10

GRIFFITH

The Pawtucket Fire Cats promoted 2B Albert Griffith to the ML level. Griffith has decent power with above average speed, and will provide the Fire Cat bench with more depth.

9/14/10

O'DONNELL

The Boston Stricken Gods placed 2B Paul O'Donnell on the 15 day DL with a strained oblique. He suffered the injury in the 9/14 game against Arizona, but played through the rest of the game. Doctors ran tests on O'Donnell, where they diagnosed the injury. No word yet on who will take O'Donnell's spot on the Boston roster.
